With the funicular straight up to Arc 1600 from Bourg Saint Maurice, in just seven minutes, Les Arcs is probably the easiest ski resort to reach in the Alps by train, or anywhere for that matter. For those travelling by air, Les Arcs also benefits from the same choice of airports that the other major resorts of the Tarrentaise Valley do. These factors combine to make Les Arcs and extremely attractive proposition for those who like their travel easy.
It is for train travel that Les Arcs really comes into its own. The Eurostar operated snow train will take you straight from London St Pancras to Bourg St Maurice, from where you can take the funicular straight up to Les Arcs. It almost couldn’t be easier.
There are daily services to Bourg St Maurice. This will involve changing in Paris from Gare du Nord to Paris Austerlitz, for the direct TGV service that will get you to Bourg later that afternoon. Tickets and timetables are available from Rail Europe.
