Past Congresses

After an interesting start to the year when France closed its borders we managed to pull off the 2nd Implantiem ski congress.

With a mixture of previous attendees and new faces over 50 people arrived at Les Arcs.

Paolo Trisi opened the congress via Zoom (Due to Covid) and this year we took over the full lecture suite at the resort.  A welcome dinner followed and most people retired (but not all) early after a days travelling.

Each of the lecture slots were well received.

Skiing was again fantastic including a red stand storm from the Sahara.

10 people took the opportunity to learn to ski and a walk was organised to the top of the Aiguille Rouge so everyone could get to the top of the mountain.

Delegates also enjoyed the Folie Douce.

53 of us headed to the Alps on the 19th of January for the first Implantium Ski Congress. Wonderful thought-provoking speakers, great delegates and brilliant weather.

The event began with a hands-on Versah day with Salah Huwais, Jorge Campos and Ziv Mazor. A huge amount of talent and knowledge in one room. Those that were planning to ski for a half-day on this day, didn’t, as they were captivated by the event.

The opening speaker was  Prof. Mariano Sanz from Spain followed by his son Prof. Ignacio Sanz and Florian Schober who lectured on SMOP and guided surgery.

The following day’s lectures led to debates in the bar on the virtues of Partial Extraction Therapy and Osseodensification having heard from the inventor of Versah himself, Salah Huwais and Jorge Campos.

Finally, the event closed with Craig Parker presenting guided surgery and Ziv Mazor with his “out of the box” thinking.

The days were filled with fun on the slopes for the skiers and boarders led around the resort by Bruce, Jason and Emma Buglass. Walks to the summit of the Aiguille Rouge were arranged for the non-skiers and beginners lessons for those that wanted a go.  Rose wine at the Folie Douche seemed popular as did fondues and Pizza.

“Having just returned from the inaugural event, I am still working to implement the new techniques and concepts learned. I am also in contact with people I did not know before the event which has been extremely positive. The skiing was superb and the quality of lecturing and hands-on amazing. I suppose one would assume a level of compromise given that this was a combination of skiing and education but neither fell short and, in fact, far exceeded expectation. In fact, the combination of activities enabled lecturers and delegates to interact more closely, which, for me, resulted in making the congress a great success.”

“Fantastic conference organised brilliantly by Emma, Jason and the Implantium team. Very innovative conference lectures, demonstrating techniques that can be used on Monday morning. Great fun as well, in a lovely place, with nice people. Highly recommend.”

Dr David Heath

“Absolute pleasure attending the Implantium Ski Congress. Great skiing (and après-ski!) combined with quality implant related learning. The Implantium staff couldn’t do enough throughout and looked after us from arrival to departure. Most importantly, have made some lifelong friends. Next year booked.”

Dr Neal Shah

“The Implantium ski trip was a wonderful experience where I got to meet new likeminded clinicians as well as hearing world class international speakers all in one location. The location of 1950 was beautiful with excellent amenities and the skiing during our down time was superb. I can’t recommend this trip enough. I will certainly be going again”.
